Which secondhand 4x4 for offroad use?
I recently got stuck twice in a wet and muddy grass car park and in an allotment in a front wheel drive Volvo V50. I would be grateful for your views as to the usefulness of a 4x4. I had previous escapades in the snowy winters lately and my job demands attendance in all weathers. A Skoda Yeti is expensive new. I have glanced at a Dacia Duster, but would value your views about a secondhand 4x4 such as a Honda or Subaru.

For farmers, a Dacia Duster Access 1.6i 4WD at £10,995 makes a lot more sense than a John Deere Gator. www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/dacia/dacia-duster.../
But if you want more luxury and better fuel economy you either have to spend £2000 more on a diesel Duster 4WD, or go for something secondhand like a Yeti diesel 4WD or a CR-V.
