My Ford Mondeo Bonnet release has broken - how do I open it now?

My 2009 Mondeo Bonnet release cable has broken. How do I open the bonnet for repair?

Access from beneath the car.

You need to remove the under tray assembly.

Then remove the under tray from the bottom of the radiator.

Then you should be able to get your hand up to the latch unit.

You may then need to bend the bottom of the unit down so that you can reach and release the catch.

Note: not a easy job to actually replace the cable.
