Would the Honda CR-V be a good replacement for our S-reg Audi A6?

We have to replace a much-loved and travelled S-reg Audi A6 2.5 TDI quattro and need a 4-wheel drive car - something good value, economical to run, roomy and comfortable. Perhaps a Honda CR-V, but any advice would be much appreciated.

Honda CR-Vs are very comfortable, and I averaged more than 40mpg in the 2.2iCDTI I ran for 6 months. HJ
