Volkswagen Touareg replacement - what should I buy?

I have a 2006 Volkswagen Touareg 2.5d SE manual with 140,000 miles, which I have owned from new. I am now looking for a replacement that will be capable on and off road and able to tow a horse box.

I have looked at the new Touareg but new prices are somewhat steep. Have you some options in the £20,000 to £35,000 bracket?
