Stay with Citroen C3 Picasso?

We have had a Citroen C3 Picasso1.6HDI Exclusive for almost 3 years and the time has come to buy a new car. We want a similar sized car (perhaps slightly smaller) with the higher driving position and the space at the back for a dog box but want to change to a petrol automatic...we do less than 8000 miles a year. Would you suggest staying with the Picasso or are there better alternatives?
