Can I interchange wheel nuts from alloy to steel wheels?
For the winter I wish to swap the original alloy wheels on my Toyota Yaris with steel wheels and winter tyres. The steel wheel supplier has told me that I can use the nuts for the alloy wheels for fixing the steel wheels as long as they are OEM, which they are.
However, I have received contradictory advice from other sources - a tyre supplier – and am somewhat confused. What should I do?

It varies from car to car. They need to be shouldered for steel wheels. I bought a new set for my FIAT 500 only to find that the new shouldered bolts were exactly the same as those holding on the alloys. You also need to make sure that the bolts are not too long.
