Is my car a manual or automatic?

I own a Honda Jazz CVT is fitted with paddle levers and consider it to be an automatic. However, a friend has told me that the paddle levers actually make it a manual – is this correct?

I turned 70 this year I had to re-apply for my licence and fill in a medical form due to mobility problems, which confines me to driving automatic cars. What is the legal position in relation to my automatic only driving licence?

The difference as far as the DVLA is concerned is three pedals or two, not whether the automatic gearchange can be overridden manually.
