Hit a car in a parking zone - what are my rights?
I bumped into a car in an office car park and there was minor damage (a scratch to the wheel arch), I left a message on the windscreen with my phone number and informed the office reception of the incident.
I heard nothing for five months, but I have now received a call from the owner saying they have had a quote and would like me to pay £600. I have asked why this is the first I have heard from them and they simply said they were busy. What are my rights?

You're still liable because you admitted it. You can tell you insurer, giving the circumstances. if your insurer is suspicious, leave him to handle it. But the insurer will probably find that the most expedient route is simply to settle.
