Can you recommend a new car with easy access?
We are an elderly couple looking for a new and accessible car. We do about 2000 miles per year and want a car with a petrol engine, four doors and automatic gearbox. Can you suggest something suitable for £15,000?

Small, a Suzuki Splash or Vauxhall Agila 1.2 automatic. Bigger a KIA Venga or Hyundai ix20 1.4 automatic. A Honda Jazz 1.4 CVT-7 might also suit but is a bit lower. Also worth considering a Toyota Yaris hybrid. And, if you can gert an ex demo down under £15,000, a Ford B-Max 1.6 Powershift auto.

Surprisingly spacious small five-door city car. Makes best sense with 1.0 petrol engine. Much better than old Agila. Rebadged version of Suzuki Splash.

Cheap to run. Good visibility. Plenty of rear passenger and boot space. Better engines and transmissions in 2016.

Sliding side doors and no central pillar mean unimpeded access. Five star Euro NCAP rating. Engines include 1.0 litre three-cylinder EcoBoost petrol. Decent drive.
