Throttle body fault with Toyota Yaris

I own a 2007 Toyota Yaris. A few weeks ago the car lost power. I had a diagnostics test, resulting in a P0120 fault, which suggested replacing the throttle body for a whopping £1000. The car has only done 26,000 miles and it would be a costly repair as I'm out of the warranty period.

I've read some horror stories on internet forums about the problem not going away, even after replacement. So, can you advise is it worth the £1000 risk or should I get rid of the car?

If the problem is the mass airflow sensor then it might be possible to fix that. Try www.ecutesting.com
