Car was mis-sold to my mother

My mother bought a new Volkswagen Up auto, but the gearbox was so terrible and unsuitable for the hilly area my mother lives in that she became terrified to use the car. The dealer agreed to buy back the car after just one week.

We asked to test drive an auto, but they did not make one available before purchase. They refunded the full purchase price less the VAT, but I think this is unfair and want them to refund the VAT too. What do you think?

The Up, Citigo and Mii auto is an automated manual, not an auto, and is generally reviled of one of the worst of a bad type to transmission. It is truly awful. They have to refund the full purchase price, including the VAT.

You can sue them for the amount they have not refunded using www.moneyclaim.gov.uk
