Replacing a Jaguar XF with a Lexus IS?
I am thinking of replacing my 4 yr old Jaguar XF 2.7D premium luxury. Whilst I love the car, since retiring my annual mileage has fallen to about 6000 miles and I am worried about potential DPF problems if I buy another diesel.
I want something with a luxurious cabin, good ride and that is quiet at speed. I also want good mid range acceleration for overtaking. I was wondering about the new Lexus IS as a replacement.
Would you recommend the IS300H (low running costs, but widely criticised CVT gearbox) or the IS250 (normal auto box, but increased running costs)?

I don't know. David road tested the IS300h for us: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/lexus/lexus-is-201.../ and while he mostly appreciated it he doesn't like CVTs. I tested the more powerful GS450h last year: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/lexus/lexus-gs-201.../ The IS250 auto and GS250 have one of the most refined powertrains in the world, just not a very efficient one.
