DPF problems - on all cars?
You often point out the problems of failing DPFs on higher mileage diesels, especially in Volkswagen models. Does the same apply across all manufacturers - my daughter is looking to buy a large second hand estate and the majority seem to be diesel.
Her annual mileage is only around 10,000 miles a year but virtually all journeys being over 10/15 miles up to 150.

Improvements in diesel engine technology mean that DPF problems are least likely to occur on cars powered by the Renault/Nissan 1.6DCI 130; the Mazda 2.2 Skyactiv D; the Honda 1.6iDTEC and the BMW 2.0 litre diesel. Have not had any reports at all of any DPF failures on any KIAs or Hyundais.
