Replacing a Fabia estate?

I currently have Skoda Fabia Greenline estate from 2008. As we use the car just for school runs mostly and afterschool clubs, distances of under a mile to 10 miles the DPF is a continual issue. At the weekends we might travel further afield.

For family holidays 3-4 times a year we travel in the UK and a buggy plus luggage fits - just. Given the DPF issue we need to replace it with petrol I guess at a £10,000 budget (new or nearly new).

Which car should we buy for mainly low mileage but with luggage space and for longer journeys at weekend or for holidays? We originally chose this narrow car for parking ease having not driven for a bit, but we are now more confident. Both drivers are females 5ft 3 and 5ft 4. The kids are 2 & 4.

We like remote central locking and air con and ability to plug in iPod but apart from that care little for other perks.

See if you can swap it at the Skoda dealer for a Fabia or a Roomster with the 1.2TSI 105 engine.
