Which MPV is suitable for a large family?

We are looking for a car to replace our 15-year-old Ford Mondeo. With two children, potentially their friends and families, we are thinking of opting for the versatility of an MPV and, due to our relatively low mileage, probably a petrol. We have been looking at reviews and gone to see various and are potentially angling towards a new 1.2 TCE 115 Renault Grand Scenic, but have also looked at the Mazda 5, Toyota Verso, Peugeot 5008 and Ford C-Max. Our main criteria are safety, reliability and economy. What are your thoughts or do you have other suggestions?

Though the Renault 1.2TCe is a sweet engine, asking it to haul seven bodies is a bit much. Better the 1.4TCe 130. I've just had a great year and 11,000 miles out of a Mazda5 1.6d TS2, but it's only a six and a half seater, and so is the Ford Grand C-Max. The Peugeot 5008 and Citroen C4 Grand Picasso have the same 115PS 1.6 diesel and six-speed manual box, and are full seven-seaters.
