Why does my Toyota's alarm keep going off?

My factory-fitted alarm recently started going off randomly. Toyota Cardiff checked the battery and it all seems ok. It tends to happen in the evening or during the night, perhaps with cooler temperatures. Some days it won’t activate at all. Is this a common fault and is there anything I can ask the garage to check?

It might be a spider crawling over the sensor, or a moth fluttering about inside the car affecting the air pressure. Moths tend to 'occur' around dusk.
