Why do my Golf's windows open when parked in the rain?
I have a 2009 Golf 1.4 TSI SE which is still under warranty. Last night we had very high winds and heavy rain and, when I looked this morning, all four windows of my car were open at the same level and the car is soaked internally. Where I live is not close to any passing traffic and I am meticulous about checking that all the doors and windows are shut. I keep my car keys in a place where no-one can touch them. My local garage has said they have never heard of such a thing happening to a Volkswagen car. Have you heard of such an incidence as this?

Very common. It's because the electronic 'brain' is inside the driver's door, which is a wet place, and the ECU is subject to moisture ingress. The other reason is accidentally pressing the buttons again, explained in the handbook.
