On a downer

My husband and I are considering becoming a one-car household. Presently I drive a mostly loved 2007 Honda Civic 1.8 ES i-VTEC 5-door (recognised problems being the i-Shift and rear view). My husband now simply cannot get in and out of it with any degree of comfort. He drives a 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec manual.

Changed circumstances mean our average combined mileage these days is not more than 10,000 per annum. Occasional longer trips but mostly local driving. (Current mileage on the Civic is only 35,000 and on the Focus just over 30,000.) We are looking at the Qashqai or something similar. Think the Honda CRV too big.

Any options welcome. Has to be high enough for comfortable access and egress from vehicle and so on. Probably prefer an automatic. A big decision as it has to work for both of us although I am main driver.

Ford B-Max 1.6i Powershift automatic, or a C-Max 1.6i Powershift auto when they eventually start coming through. Alternatively a Hyundai ix20 1.6 auto, Kia Venga 1.6 auto or Ford B-Max 1.6 Powershift.
