Will the new Auris be suitable for a disabled driver?
I have a friend who currently drives a three-door Toyota Auris. He is a double amputee and likes to load his folded wheelchair behind the driver seat. He also requires an automatic. A new Auris is due to be launched but the dealer could not confirm if a three-door version would be available. Do you know of any other makes/models that offer a three-door version of an Auris-sized vehicle, please?

One option is the Honda Jazz CVT-7. That model has lift-up rear seat squabs that easily enable a folded wheelchair to be accommodated in the centre of the car. But probably best of the lot will be the Ford B-Max, which has sliding rear side doors and no 'B' pillar, giving unimpeded access. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/ford/b-max-2011/

Sliding side doors and no central pillar mean unimpeded access. Five star Euro NCAP rating. Engines include 1.0 litre three-cylinder EcoBoost petrol. Decent drive.
