What is your opinion on the Dacia Duster?
We currently own a Hyundai Matrix automatic which is two and a half years old with 19,000 miles. Since we both appreciate relatively high seating we thought this was an appropriate vehicle for us. Unfortunately we find it rather uncomfortable and it appears to be heavy on fuel, averaging 30mpg. I read with interest about the Dacia Duster and I wonder what your views are on this vehicle? The price is appealing since we are both pensioners, but what are the drawbacks? Is it chain or belt cam, what is its expected MPG, and is it reliable? Plus, of course, is it comfortable?

The petrol engine is chain cam. The diesel engine is belt cam. There is no automatic version and none planned. I can't have a view on it because I've not driven it. The £8995 version is very basic with no radio, no electric windows, no aircon and no spare wheel, but it's still a lot of metal for the money.
