Recommend a fun, fast, reliable car for an enthusiast?

I'm almost 63 years of age and I've been a car nut all my life. I currently run a 10-year-old BMW 318 Touring and my wife's 2005 MINI Cooper. I love them both. However, I really want something exciting, fun and reliable before I end up in a Honda Jazz. Any recommendations?

A MINI Cooper S Clubman might meet your requirements for the extra room and versatility, or, if you want something the same size as a 318i Touring but a lot quicker, the new Focus ST 250: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/ford/ford-focus-st.../
