Can I carry a spare tyre in my Toyota RAV-4?

I have just bought a Toyota RAV-4. It has no spare tyre, just a can of goo to inject. However, after inspecting the bay under the floor where the goo and pump are stored, it seems that it measures up large enough to fit a spare, providing a centre box section of plastic is removed. Can you advise if this is where previous models with spare have stored the wheel and whether it can be converted back?

No. In the past the spare wheel was slung on a strengthened rear door. Toyota gradually abandoned this, first with the T180, then with the rest of the RAV-4s. Suzuki followed suit with the Grand Vitara. The wheels and tyres are very big. I don't think they will fit in this well.
