Should I buy my old company Mondeo to use as a commuter?
I've lost the use of a company car, have never bought a used car before and I was thinking of spending £1000 - £2000 on a car to get me 10 miles each way to work and other very short trips. My biggest problem is that I'm 6-foot 3-inches with a bad back, so the car needs to be a reasonable size. I have also been offered my old company car, a 2003 Mondeo 2.0TDCi Zetec S with 120,000 miles, for £600. Is it worth going for? I know it's been serviced but think the DMF is going as it rattles and clanks badly. Any advice would be welcomed.

Problem solved. Buy the 03 Mondeo for £600. Has a chain cam engine so no timing belt worries. It doesn't have a DPF. And, no guarantee, but I’ve received two reports of this model reaching 200,000 miles on its original Dual Mass Flywheel.
