What do you think of the Vauxhall Meriva?

My wife has driven Corsas for 20 years but its time to look for a new model. I am trying to persuade her to go for the Meriva instead as we have grandchildren, and I think the Meriva is not only slightly bigger but also much easier to get young and old passengers in and out of.

However I am hesitating because I am concerned that the Meriva may be seen as a mobility car choice and that this might affect eventual resale prices. We would be looking at the new shape in either model and most likely the 1.4 Exclusive, again in both models.

The Meriva is supposed to appeal to young families, so I see no such prejudice or blight. Yes, the 1.4T 140 is the best engine. Video test: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/vauxhall/vauxhall-.../
