Fixing a Peugeot 107's slipping clutch

Can you advise on a slipping clutch problem on a 2007 Peugeot 107 with 20k miles on the clock? I have read that its a common problem with some saying its a simple matter of adjustment and others (our local garage being one!) that there is no adjustment and it needs a new clutch at £400. Can you advise if sounds right? It gets lots of stop / start driving but still low mileage for a new clutch?

Needs to be replaced with the later (from 2009) slightly larger diameter clutch.
