Petrol smell in a Zafira?

I have a Zafira 1.6l club, 2008, 42k, which I have owned since one year old. Now and again there is a smell of petrol in the cabin. Usually when after it has been on the drive overnight. Not when driving. It happens in summer and winter. This has come and gone over the last couple of years. I have asked for it to be checked when serviced, but they say all seems ok.

I have checked under the car, under the seats/ carpets, the engine and engine compartment. There is no sign of petrol dripping from anywhere. It does not seem to matter how much petrol is in the tank, I usually go from full to quarter to full, but always stop filling at the click.

I have checked the questions and answers, but no-one seems to have the same problem.

It's the fuel tank breather system.
