Escalating repair costs at the garage

My car went into a Ford dealership to diagnose a problem with the power not being delivered when the accelerator was pressed. They asked to charge me £150 diagnostic fee. I accepted.

They said it would cost another £300 to replace an injector. I reluctantly accepted.

They then needed 3rd party tools to remove the injector which was fused into place. The price was now £600. I accepted but asked Ford to intervene with a goodwill gesture.

Now the engine is rebuilt, but making a rattling noise from the engine, and still with the garage. They want a total of £1600 to fix it.

It is a minor problem that has escalated into a major one. Seek a meeting with the management of the garage to come to a compromise solution.
