Is it possible to buy a car while out of the country?
I spend a lot of time out of the UK. I own a car in the UK and wish to sell it (part ex) and buy another. Can my wife do this for me by proxy if a good deal comes up whilst I am away, or do I need to be there to complete the sale?

Technically no. The vehicle ownership would need to pass to your wife. But you can probably do this with a document. The V5C does not have to be in her name.
