Who picks up this paintwork bill?

I bought an 03 reg Nissan Micra from a local dealer. About a month after the purchase a small patch of paint fell off near the rear number plate. This patch has grown increasingly bigger and I have taken the car back to the dealer to complain about the flaking paint.

He has offered to contribute towards a repair by a bodywork specialist he knows and I am meeting them tomorrow. Surely though he should be paying for the repairs as he sold me the car in that state. (Paintwork looked find at time or purchase). Please could you advise where I stand in this?

I doubt that a judge would find this significant enough on a cheap 10 year old car.
