Wet floor in a Golf

My mother has a Y-Reg Golf hatch which has a very wet drivers side carpet owing to the, garage thinks, blocked drain holes. Are these supposed to be checked during services, and is £2-300 a fair price to have it dried out?

Are there any other likely causes please?

No, they aren't checked. But why pay £200 - £300 for a job that requires no skill that you can do yourself.
