Buying Bangernomics diesel
Due to my high mileage covering 27,000 miles in 18 months in my petrol Ford Focus, I'm now looking to buy a diesel to replace it. However, I've previously had a Mondeo diesel (52-plate) which suffered injector problems and a Vectra diesel (54), which blew the turbo at 80,000 miles.
I'm therefore looking for a post 2000 Volvo S40 which I understand won't suffer from DPF or DMF issues as their not used; but I'm having trouble locating one with less than intergalatic mileage. Is there anything else I should consider?
My budget is only around £2000-4000 maximum.

Focus based V40 2.0 diesels from 2003 always had DMFs and DPFs. The older Carisma based 1990s V40 had a 1.9 Renault diesel engine with no DPF and maybe no DMF either.
