Volkswagen Golf Mk6 Camchain wear
You might want to add to your car by car that my 2009 Golf 1.4TSI 122bhp has just had to have its cam chain replaced at 44,000 miles.
Might be worth other readers knowing. Lucky for me it was done under VWs Approved used warranty so cost me nothing.

Will add if not already there. The reason may be VAG's longlife servicing regime. An oil change every 20k miles is likely to result in accelerated camchain tensioner wear.
