DPF questions

I am buying an Alfa Romeo Giulietta diesel. The dealer says that the DPF problem is lessened on this car as it is higher up the exhaust system. Is that correct.

The closer it is to the engine the better, yes. But in fact most are bolted directly onto the exhaust manifold.
