Fiesta fuel pump has failed. Help please!

It's a problem with a Fiesta that's been left standing for four weeks while the owner was away from home. Now, the fuel pump is not running for 1~2 seconds when ignition turned on (and car will not start). I have checked fuse 31, and that is okay. I cannot identify from my Haynes manual the relay for the pump in order to check that. Which one is it please - it's for a 2000-on Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25?

Also, can I access the wiring to check that the proper voltage is getting to the pump without dropping the tank? Failing that, is it practicable to cut into the cable where it runs under the back seat and then join it by splicing in a bit more cable? (It seems to me bizarre to have cable where it is constantly worn by the stiffeners in the seat cushion but I suppose Ford know best.)

Lastly, any other ideas - such as, anywhere I can usefully apply a rubber mallet to try to free a possibly stuck pump?

Well Fuse 35 ( 10amp) feeds the fuel Pump relay ( it should have a orange wire going into the relay).

Then there should be a Violet/Orange wire which then goes to the IFS (inertia fuel shut- off switch)then a violet/orange wire that goes to the fuel pump.
Check for supply at the Fuse/then the relay/then the IFS is all okay suspect the pump. Just remove and check/change,rubber mallet is not the answer.
