Engine specs and gearing

I have just purchased a 2012 Kia Cee'd. I have had diesel for the past 15 years, all Volkswagen Group PD then CR. I find that this car has no response in any gear if you are sitting 1500 rpm or under. In my VW cars they pulled very easily with great shove. Kia has me disappointed. Can I get this issue improved?

Lots of VAG cars had no response under 1,500rpm. But this was not our experience of the latest KIA/Hyundai 1.6CRDI engines. Probably needs some running in.
