Cracked glass roof on Evoque?

My brother in law has an Evoque fitted with the optional glass roof. Recently it cracked for no apparent reason. Is there a known problem with Evoque glass roofs?

First I've heard of it. Of course, anything could drop out of the sky at any time and crack a glass roof. I've had it happen once in 6 years of driving cars with glass roofs.
