Removing sap and residue from a winscreen

The windscreen on my Honda S2000 has the residue from using Diamondbright on the screen, plus pine sap from parking under pine trees.

All the preparitory cleaners from Auto Glym, downwards have failed to remove the thin film that only shows when the screen is wet. I have also used industrial cleaners and also resorted to steel wool and Acitone - no result.

Try Mer abrasive windscreen cleaner or white smokers toothpaste.
