What tyres for my Volvo V70?

I see that you are often being asked about alternative tyre sizes and makes for comfort, wear or performance.

I am actually quite content with the 245/40ZR18 size Goodyear Eagle F1 currently fitted to my recent purchase of Volvo V70 R-Design, but would there be a better choice such as Michelin, or OK to go with budget tyres and replace more often?

Also, without invalidating insurance, is there an acceptable profile to suit this model, mostly used on country roads.

The only tyres you can use on those wheels are that size. Budget low profile tyres would be a big mistake. You probably need Michelin Pilot Sport 3. Go down to 16" wheels with deeper profile tyres and the tyres could last twice as long.
