Repairing broken MINI seats

Hello,

I have a 2004 Mini One, and both of the seats have now lost the function to slide forward to let passengers in the back seat. The seat backs still move forward, but the seat base stays in the same position rather than sliding forward.

In addition to this issue, my drivers seat no longer allows me to fix the seat back in my preferred position, but rather will only stay in one (which annoyingly is too far back!).

I took my car to a BMW garage a year or so ago to find out if they could fix this, thinking it would be a case of replacing the cable in the seat, however they told me I would need to replace each seat completely at a cost of around £600 each!

Do you know of a way I can have these issues fixed for a more reasonable price?

Try local car upholsterers and trimmers. These were problems with R50 MINI seats from the early days of the model.
