ukcarbroker - Joint First Owner/Care Of question

I am interested in purchasing a car from ukcarbroker.com, however I have been told that as far as the v5/log book is concerned i woild be registered as the joint first keeper, "Care Of".

I'm a bit dubious about this and wondered if anyone new how this affect me with regards to ownership and insurance?

I have been told that I would have the v5 etc before taking delivery of the car.

Obviously ukcarbroker is not going to risk committing another offence, so you need to clarify exactly what is meant by 'joint first keeper'. If you are registered as the first keeper of the car on the V5C or even the 'joint first keeper' on the V5C then this may be a way round. If you are not the registered keeper of the car and the car is not leased to you then this may be an "offence under section 43C of the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 (as amended)." You also need to check with your insurer.
