Lack of power with a Nissan Qashqai - any ideas?

Car lacks power when climbing a hill - plenty of revs but no power. In addition on a couple occasions car has slipped out of cruise when climbing gradient

Presumably manual? This doesn't have a lot of power anyway and is quite low geared. I wonder if the clutch has failed and is slipping.
