New Civic - chaim or belt cam?
Having read your report on the car, I have recently taken delivery of a new 2012 Honda Civic 1.8 i-VTEC ES and so far I am absolutley delighted with it. I wasn't an avid lover of the previous design, otherwise I would have considered buying one 3 years ago, when I chose a Toyota Auris TR instead. My question and, I received different answers from various staff at the dealership, is the engine belt or chain driven? The service manual states a belt change at 72,000, but the service department says it is chain driven!

Chain cam. All the 1.4s, 1.8s, 2.0s, 2.2s and 2.4s are. The older 1.7 and 1.6 Honda engined were belt cam.
