Choosing a Renault Scenic automatic

Have compared new C-MAX 2.0 diesel and current Scenic and found C-MAX seats uncomfortable therefore thinking of choosing Scenic automatic. Have test driven 11 reg 1.5 dCi auto which we were surprised to like but need occasionally to tow a 1220 kg caravan. Apparently there was a petrol auto but they have stopped making 2.0l autos so cannot get new. Is there anything negative about 2.O diesel auto Renault?

This is a relatively low torque twin clutch automatic transmission so I would not recommend towing with it. Same with the Getrag Powershift in the C-MAX. For towing you really need an old fashioned, fuel guzzling torque converter auto, or a manual.

I'm thinking of buying a diesel Peugeot Partner Tepee automatic 1.6 or a Mercedes-Benz Citan Traveliner manual diesel as a compromise between a car and a van. I'd appreciate your thoughts about these vehicles.
