Audi A3 value
Her indoors wants to change our 2003 A3 TDI Quattro for either an Audi A4 Avant, Volkswagen Tiguan or a Golf Estate. Please can you let us know how much we would expect for trade in on our Audi? It has 97k with full Audi service history and also which of the cars above you would recommend with petrol or diesel?

If it's the old model 1.9 TDI 130 quattro, about £2,750. I'd go for an A4 1.8 TSI 160 Avant, not a diesel because of all the problems you can get with diesels nowadays. The Golf estate is Mexican built and not great. The Tiguan is a bit higher, so easier to lift a baby in and out. Best with the 2.0 TSI 180, and quite a lot cheaper than the A4 1.8 TSI. Tiguan 1.4 TSI 140 a bit suspect.

Good choice of engines. Some petrol engines now chain cam. Comfortable and well built interior. cheap to run 1.6 TDI. Feels very refined especially on the motorway.
