I need a spare for my Avensis

Just purchased a used (2009) Totota Avensis. No spare tyre, only an emergency kit.

There is provision for a full spare tyre, so should I purchase a spare wheel and tyre? I don't want an emergency wheel/tyre.

I feel uncomfortable about driving without a spare!

Yes. It will increase your fuel consumption. You can't buy a steel spare for this car. Has to be a 17" alloy, like the other road wheels.
