Dai Another Day
I have driven my 2004 Daihatsu Terios Sport from almost new and would buy another one if I could. It still has only about 44,000 miles on the clock but may need some repairs fairly soon for example the exhaust. I like the high seating position, its reliability and the good roadholding. I have had it serviced regularly by the supplier, Jeffries of Bacton, near Stowmarket in Suffolk. They have looked after me so well that I would like to buy another car from them.
However, the Terios and its replacement are no longer available. Jeffries has Isuzu and Proton. I am retired and have limited money to spend, say £10,000 plus trade-in. Should I keep the Terios, at least for the winter, or replace it sooner? If I could afford the Isuzu Rodeo, which is a step up, I would consider that. I have a dog and need space for a dog cage. What else should I look at? Suzuki?

What you could do is get the dealer to look out for a newer Terios. Imports were suspended in November 2009. Or a short wheelbase Suzuki Grand Vitara that has a usefully low load deck and easy folding rear seats. A Rodeo is a truck, not a car, and though I rate it the best pick up prior to the new Ford Ranger, Mazda B50 and Chevrolet Colorado, it is a bit big.
