I am writing to thank you for my new car. Way back in the early sixties I drove a Fiat Abarth so have been lusting for a new 500 since they appeared. I really thought that it would not materialise, but my darling husband bought one and secreted it in our garage without me smelling a rat - not the sort of grand gesture he usually makes, bless him. I have you to thank because we always read your column first on Saturdays and you continually praised the 500, which I know steered him into action. He got a Sport model that had been purchased by BSM and never used, even though it was on last year's plate. There were only 180 miles on the clock and the colour is perfect - dark silver, to match my hair. The car was sourced by our local Vauxhall specialist A.E. Clegg of Hallow, near Worcester, a family undertaking and first class. Oh, yes - we are, of course, both IAM qualified.
