Moanerhome
I purchased a new motorhome in March of this year, top of the range and the company’s flagship model. I have had nothing but irritating problems, including specification not as ordered, a £700 alarm system not Thatcham recognised (necessitating removal and replacement before the vehicle was insurable) and the whole vehicle needing re-polishing due to overspray owing to a roof repair prior to me taking delivery.
I could list a whole page of faults but have no wish to waste your time in reading them. The supplying dealers have gone the extra mile in attending to the issues with the vehicle and I have no complaints with their service. However, in the last few months it has become apparent that the upholstery, cream leather with coffee Alcantara type inserts, a £1,290 extra, is changing colour from coffee to various shades of pink: squabs, backrests and headrests are all affected. I have had an offer from the concessionaires of £250 if I accept it as it is, which, frankly, is totally unacceptable.
How do I stand on this because I feel that a complete re-trim is necessary under the terms of the warranty. Can you please advise me what to do in the event of reaching a stalemate with the concessionaires? I feel to be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Your only legal right is against the dealer who sold it to you. You have no legal right against the manufacturer. Your rights are explained here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights . I should warn you that County Court action is extremely expensive and by no means guaranteed to bring the result you want. You might be able to use the small claims track, but if the case became one of rejection of the vehicle then it would far exceed £5,000 small claims track limit.
