Kicked while down
My dad is disabled and we parked in a B&Q car park. We used his blue badge but also purchased a ticket as well as we have been told to do this by attendants. We went over by 44 minutes on the purchased ticket. We keep getting letters from Parking Eye and the letters seem to be getting more harassing. They claim that there are no disabled spaces in B&Q car parks and that it is only a pay and display carpark.
We sent them the till receipts from B&Q and the Blue badge copy with purchased ticket. My Dad is blind and deaf in one ear but feels really threatened by these letters and won't go out in the car now. I want to reassure him that we have done the right thing parking there. They did not accept our disabled badge appeal and from the tone of the letter almost could not be bothered to answer it, therefore it must be a standard letter they send out to everyone.
Any help and advice would be great. I really need help with this to get these harassing letters off out backs. They say we owe them £50 but in reality it should be 44p as it is £1 per hour. Hope you can help. My Dad has enough to put up with in life as it is and I really want to sort this out. They have sent us a photograph our car but the front windscreen is obscured by sunlight. They say they have identified the driver of the vehicle, so they must be clairvoyant as well.

Write to the management of B&Q telling them that you are fully prepared for this to go to court where you will vigorously defend yourselves and which you will make sure is covered by the national press. This will engender approbation and disgust at the manner in which B&Q treats severely disabled customers. Do not respond to Parking Eye at all except to tell them that you have taken the matter up with B&Q management, but that if Parking Eye wishes to pursue you through the courts it must be a county court convenient to you. They will then drop it like a hot potato.
