Can you recommend an economical 4x4 suitable for a 50-mile commute for a taller driver?

I live in rural North Yorkshire and travel to York every day on B-roads, a return journey of about 50 miles. Additionally I travel about 150 miles each weekend. The last two winters have been very severe and I think I probably need to look at buying a 4x4. I am 6 feet 2 inches tall, so a little car would not suit, but I am looking to buy something that is reasonably economical, not too pricey and is reasonably environmentally friendly. I would need to be able to take the car in for its service in York so a main dealer would have to be based there. Can you recommend a suitable car for me?

If you have £32,000 +, then a BMW F25 X3. 4WD and 149g/km CO2. Built for Germans. The lowest CO2 4WD is the Toyota Urban Cruiser 1.4 D-4D, which is about half the price, but since I'm not 6 feet 2 inches I can't tell you if you will fit. The British built Range Rover Evoque and the Spanish built Audi Q3 are two other possibilities, but the diesel engines are still belt cam and the low CO2 figures are only for the two wheel drive versions.
